I just had my driver’s side head gasket replaced by Mark O’Reilly @ West Sussex Alfa Romeo.
What can I say, well impressed is what.
Started at 10:00 and finished at 16:30, that’s including;
A customer come in to book their car in and talked for a while, a visit from a signage lady, a visit from BT and a visit from his other half and their daughter.
New throttle body insulator gasket both sides, made of tuffnel, thanks Alex and gaskets to go with them.
Refitted 2 exhaust studs that came out the head.
Fitting new camshaft oil seals.
Fitting new belts both sides.
2 exhaust rubbers were replaced as well
It should have been simpler had it not been for a broken top engine mount, replacement on the way, thanks Alex
Attention to detail or what?! Very impressed £300 all in, what do you think guys? _________________ x2 33 16v

I've just removed both heads from my 8v model 33 for the first with the engine in the car.
Took me about 10 hours in total!!! Couldn't move the next day.
Was a learning process along the way though. And many bolts and gaskets were stuck solid - so wasted time trying to loosen parts.
See my other thread
Now if I can remember how to put it all back together is another story. LOL _________________ S2 33 1988 1.7 QV

Oh nothing at the moment but its always worth knowing of these people.
This weekend I'm fitting a new TPS and swapping over to my gear linkage modified for bolt rather than clip. _________________ '93 Black 33 1.7 16v |
