Balancing pistons and rods at home - thoughts?

Taken out my 4 pistons and rods. Some pitting and light damage to pistons 1 and 3, will need to smooth these out.

Going to weigh them after.

If there is significant weight damage what are your thoughts advice on removing excess material?

Had some scary advice about touching these.

Anyone with personal experience on the boxer?

ah yes good confirmation - exactly what the alfa performance manual said, even to taper it.

I could taper each edge with a stone I have plus it's heavier so less to take off. cheers

page 56/57 mentions exactly what you show. Wink Wink
