|
|
Hi, I'm just about to purchase a Mk2 33 and would like to know (apart from the obvious) what to look out for???
Is there anything underneath to check visually before parting with money, that you can tell if it's rotten pig or not?
Also any rattles from the engine or knocks and bangs from suspension etc.
I have a 156 at the moment and as you can tell from above this is one of the first things to check on a 156???
Any help and advice thrown my way would be most welcome!
Thanks

For rust check around rear shocks(behind wheel in wheel arch and in boot). Also jacking points, sills. floor.
2nd gear synchro tends to wear.
Engine pretty solid but must be good and hot before you thrash it. Timing belts made need changing.
Speedo/rev counter not always working as they should. Check all electrical equipment.
Front shock absorber top bearings may be shot. Causes creaking when turning the steering wheel and tyre wear on inside of front wheels.
Boot lid can leak. Check spare wheel compartment for rust. _________________ Alfa33 QO 1984
