Just received 4 gudgeon pins and one is longer than the other 3!

I hope the 3 aren't for a 1.5 piston!!

What length should the pins be for a 1.7 piston?

Anyone know?

(these just travelled 7000 miles by post)

Cheers

61mm apparently are the correct ones.

So I have 1 duff one from Peter!! Waiting for his response.
What a PITA.

Have to source another one now, probably from Buenos Aires costing me an arm and leg or maybe I'll just use one of the least worn pins as they don't really wear down much.

It's the small ends I'm changing that wear down.

If the diameters are the same, can you not machine the wrong one to the correct length?

Thought about that but the inner wall is thinner on the longer one and weighs 108 grams at 63mm

The 61mm pins weighs 110 grams.

If I cut the 63mm one down 2 mm there will be a big weight difference that will be unacceptable.

Shame.

Peter from alfaparts is kindly sending me the correct 61mm 4th pin.

He had a box of 150 pins and though they were all the same.
Maybe the 63mm pin is from the 16v boxer??

We are not sure.
