I believe the correct engine oil for the 16v is 10/40. Is Castrol RS 0/40 Synthetic OK. I know Keith mentioned use 0/40 some time ago.

Also, Alfa owners manuals state that Alfa Romeo coolant mixture should be used in the cooling system. Is this available from Alfa dealers, or is there an alternative?

Hi

The first part of the oil spec is the effective viscosity when the oil is cold. To a large extend the lower the better for this. I try and keep to the normal viscosity though. I have used 5w40 in the P4, although now using 10w40.
