|
|
I bought a 156 V6 a few months ago with a whining gearbox.
Just a heads up that this will be for sale in the next few days, having just got the gearbox sorted out(front mainshaft bearing had gone). I was deciding between this and my Fiat Coupe, and the Coupe is staying.
I'll post more details in the next day or so in case anyone on the forum is interested, but for starters:
Price: £850
Model: Alfa 156 2.5 V6 24v Veloce
Colour: Metallic red
Interior: Black leather
Mileage: currently 76843
MOT: 5th April 2015
Tax: No
History: Full dealer service history including belts at 51760
External:
Passenger side rear door has a non-dent scuff which has polished out
Passenger side front door has a small ding near the bottom rear
Front and rear bumper corners so minor marks not through the paint
Front window weather strips (along tops of doors) showing a bit of internal corrosion
Wheels are not scuffed but a few small bubbles here and there
Goodyear tyres on front and Michelin on back. Lots of tread and life left in them.
Rest of the car externally is very good for 14 years old and it looks great washed and polished
Underside:
Protection on floor by inner sills at front just starting to come loose and some surface corrosion in those areas, otherwise very good
All brake lines look to be in good condition
Mechanical:
Gearbox, very quiet, positive change for all 6 gears and reverse
Clutch bites firmly mid way, release bearing is quiet
Engine, runs nicely and is quiet
Exhaust is old and a few repairs made to back box entry pipe, but is quiet (no holes)
AC is not working - needs condenser checking and re-gas
Radiator fins at bottom are corroded (turning to dust). New radiator is included but not fitted)
Brakes, work as expected, good positive feel
Suspension, quietest suspension I have come across on a 156. No groans, knocks or squeaks from front end. Handles as a 156 should
Interior:
Clean and tidy
No rips, tears, or holes in anything
Leather is in good condition
Fuse panel below steering wheel is loose (doesn't fall on your feet unexpectedly though)
All instruments and warning lights work as intended (and none on when they shouldn't be)
Pioneer head unit and CD changer in boot
Will post pics when it stops raining and I've given it a wash, but here are 3 from when I bought it (scuff not polished out, and 1 missing from 156):

Sold and gone for 755 quid. That felt like a good price looking at what they seem to go for generally, so quite pleased with that.
Have to say I enjoyed the few drives I had in it. _________________ Drivers:
