Hi all -

just wondering if it is possible / advisable to completely block off the hot air intake that leads to the air filter? I have an 87 model 1.5 twin carb which has the dual intake - one hot and one cold but my thermostat that seperates or mixes the two intakes is broken. It is basically always hot here in Queensland so I was just going to make a larger cold air intake and forget about the hot air intake. Am I better off completely sealing it off rather than just leave the hot air venting into the engine compartment?

Thanks-
David

Hi David
Never bothered with the hot air supply on our cars. One screw allows the removal of the intake fitting from the filter box, plastic clips hold the two halves together, seperate and remove the thermo unit, reassemble ,refit to the box and add an extra cold air pickup hose. More power Twisted Evil Twisted Evil In Queensland the more cold air the better.
Regards Eddie
