Need to verify function of four senders on the 16V engine.
For RHD car positioned as follows:-
1 Centre rear of block ( oil presure I guess)
2 Rear of nearside head ( single spade connector).
3 Nearside throttle body ( 2 pin).
4 Offside throttle body ( single spade connector) _________________ 16v p4 In pieces. |

Hi, From memory-
1 Centre rear of block ( oil presure I guess)
IF NEAR OIL PUMP ITS THE OIL PRESSURE- SEE BELOW
2 Rear of nearside head ( single spade connector).
TEMP FOR TEMP GAUGE
3 Nearside throttle body ( 2 pin).
TEMP FOR ECU
4 Offside throttle body ( single spade connector)
SOUNDS LIKE OIL PRESSURE AGAIN??
There are also the sender for the timing (ECU) from flywheel on n/s/r and the throttle postion switch on o/s/f throttle choke.
The engine harness also connects to the injectors and the idle valve on the front of the manifold.
Hope this helps a bit,

I would have thought so. So what's the single spade connector on the back of the nearside head? _________________ 16v p4 In pieces. |

Hi,
Just looked at handbook, and it says that the sender on the OSF throttle is temp. Again from memory i think there was a brown wire to this one and an orange wire to the oil pressure (i think!!??)
I remember the single spade on the nsf head (had this head off twice) but can't fathom what the connector could be for except temp? I'll have to have a look at the car at some point now!!- I'm sure it all made perfect sense when I put the engine back in the 2nd time!!
Cheers,
John |
