Has anyone in Sydney purchased the kit? If so where did you get it from and how much was it?

Cheers

Johnboy
I presume you're talking a cone setup(1 or 2?) Was there a noticeable gain?

Hi eddie,

yes it's a cone type, just the one as it's injection.when i had the 8v in the car.i had 2 ovel K & N filter's which gave more power, but i did'nt have a cold air feed, which was bad,but the sound was great.the cone was already on the engine.but i build the cold air feed from waist pipe. 4 an quarter inch pipe that goes straight over the K & N, so it only sock's cold air and not hot engine air.hope that help's,if you e-mail me i'll send some photo's of it to help you.

all the best
john

Hi John
I appreciate the offer but all my cars are carbed. I've been thinking around the filter side of things, whether to go for twin cones with cold air feed and a plenum over each carb or just replace the standard filter with a K&N Panel. Iknow a few guys think that the standard setup is hard to beat but it doesn`t look optimum to me. I love experimenting to improve so I guess I`ll go for the twin setup just to see .I`ve got a friend with a dyno to check whether it works or not.
Regards Eddie

Hi eddie,

i would go with the standard set up,as i got to know a guy who used to race 33's, and he said that they used to cut the under side of the filter box, which seamed to get more power than just bolting on filter's.so you could try that first as your mate has a dyno. Cool they were'nt aloud to do this, but the judges could'nt see it when they raced Wink

hope that help's

john

Go to Demon Tweeks in Manchester and ask for a set of K and Ns that will fit downdraft 36s.Forget the induction kit unless you are using e.f.i.The noise that they make is wonderful.I have them them on my 33 Ti Veloce and wouldnt be without them Very Happy

Im about to do a Cold air set up in my series 3 16v. Take out the exisiting panel filter box, and buy a pipe to fit on the throttle body ( its 67mm diameter ) then put the cone filter right down the front under/near the headlight. Try and make a surrouding enclosure so only all hot air from the engine is cut-off. Also wrap heat-shield tape around the pipe, because that can get hot as well! good luck Very Happy

all the best
