Hi,

Yesterday I had my injectors cleaned with the supersonic method and the process was fully successful.

Afterwards I installed them along with new O-rings, gaskets and stuff like that, cleaned everything up and started the motor...

Motor sounded OK but the strange thing is that the exhaust hears like a sporty one with bass sound that troubles the ears. Also I can see that the exhaust pipes are shaking and more or less you can feel it inside the cabin.

In addition the fumes were smelling like rotten eggs Rolling Eyes good or bad thing?

Do you have an idea what this fault might be?

Here are some photos from the project.

The smell is because the catalytic converter is having unburnt fuel dumped into it. This is a bad thing - itll knacker the cat and can cause a fire risk. As for why its having unburnt fuel dumped into it... well. somethings up with your ignition system somewhere. Check you havent disturbed any connections

Hi,
if it was 16v I would tell you to disconnect battery for few minutes so ECU can reset itself, and recalculate fuel amount needed, remap fuel map.
Rotten egg smell is from sulfate in fuel comming to catalyst, it can mean few things:
1) to much sulfate in fuel
2) unburned fuel/suf. acid is coming to catalyst
3) catalyst is nearing it's end of life.

Here in Croatia you start worring when smell stops, because you know that catalst is not doing its converting any more.

Well guys problem solved (at last)...

My day started replacing the spark plugs - no progress

Found out that cyl 4 does not function as pulling out the injector connector while running made no difference Wink so problem isolated

Installed a spare injector - no progress

Exchanged the cyl1 injector to the cyl 4 one - no progress, cyl 4 not functioning.

Installing injector connector of cyl4 to cyl 1 showed that cyl is operating, so not an electrical problem.

Removed the lhd intake manifold to see if something blocks the way, everything clear.

Went to the mechanic, explained all the combinations I did; compression test: cyl 1 140 psi, cyl 4 135 psi. not low compression

As last change he replaced ignition lead of cyl 4. PROBLEM SOLVED Evil or Very Mad

Murhy's low reminds that if something will go wrong it will do so...
I have a multimeter that checks if high voltage goes to the leads and showed for all 4 cyls that the rpms are around 900...

I was too confident to rely on this damn thing.

Regards
