Any notes of caution or advice for when swapping mechanical fuel pump for electric?
We are using a Facet pump near the fuel cell in the boot, and a filter king (bowl type) filter/regulator on the bulkhead in the engine bay (pretty much where the battery used to be). Is blanking off where the mech one used to be straightforward? Any suggestions for what the fuel pressure setting?
It is an Alfasud shell, but a 1.7 33 engine.

Hi...
I´ve done one conversion from an 1.5 TI (series 2), to 1.7 16v, but i used all electrical parts from the donor car. I didn´t use the carbs, and the 16v engine doesnt have mechanical fuel pump.
However, i believe that a blanking plate will do the job.
The pressure, to feed the carbs, should be the closest to the original as possible. In an injection, if you increase the pressure you get power gains, but in carburettors theres not much point doing that.
The original pressure, is 17,7 - 29,4 Kpa (0,177 - 0,294 bars / 0,18 - 0,30 kg/cm2) at 5000/6000rpm
Hope this helps

All done!
Have a facet pump at the back pushing to a regulator mounted on the bulkhead where the battery used to be (havce a red top in the passenger footwell now).
Had to make a blanking plate for where the old fuel pump was, involved a little modification to the simple plate we started with - had to drill a hole and fill the back with some weld and a bolt to give room. _________________ (00=\°/=00) (00=\°/=00)
