Hi,

Over the past year or so, the idle on my 33 1.7IE has been decreasing. I reckon at the start it idled at around 900rpm... but now it's down to the point where it ALMOST stalls when at idle.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have good spark, clean oil vapour thing, no leaks downstream of the AFM. I had a cut in the Corrugated Sleeve (large tube between the AFM and the Throttle Body). I replaced this - but has made little effect.

Where should I look next?

Thanks!

Rob

Hi,

I would suggest to check the tightness of hoses connected to the intake. Check the idle hose in the front of the manifold and also the small nylon hose under the throttle which connects to the distributor.

Another reason can be your servo connection or even the servo itself. It may be a faulty hose that the engine sucks in air which is of course not metered by Jetronic.

Just an idea.

Regards,

That's what I thought - I had a look round, and all seems ok. Time for the water tests methinks! Shocked

Cheerz,

Bob
