Hi all
I´m about to disassemble my 16v dashboard, to try to locate and eliminate noises, that are driving me crazy, whenever i drive the car...
I started this post, because some of you, probably have already done similar jobs...
What i was looking, was some advice (not in the disassembly/assembly process), were to look at problematic areas that cause noises...
In my car, the situation is really bad. If the road surface is not silk smoth, the trepidations, make the dashboard rattle like crazy...
NHIICC NNHHICC , RRRMMMTT
There is also a sound, that makes me concern more. Somewere behind the steering column, i hear what seems a bee, making ZZZZêêÊ.
This noise is audible at low RPM (idle), but if i turn the wheel, sometimes it increases, sometimes it goes away... The noise is similar to the noise of the fuel pump...
Can anyone give some advices
thanks in advance

Hi,
about the noise from the steering wheel , it is possibly due to the lack of lubricant in the horn shoe.
It is a kind of pin that connects electrically to the wheel and comes into contact with the wiring harness to the horn. This allows the wheel to rotate and at the same time to have the ability to trigger the horn

The horn contact wouldn't make noise when the steering wheel was still, would it? Only while you're actually turning the wheel. |

Hi...
The steering wheel noise is always there... ZZÊÊÊÊÊMMM. It doesnt matter if i turn the wheel or not. Like i said, it ressembles the noise of the fuel pump, but with a different tone...
I`m wondering if there is something wrong with the power steering...
I´m also removing the door cards, because it seems that theres a lot of noises comming from there, especially the front doors, and the right rear...
My problem, is, that whenever i remove any plastics on the car, it solves the noises for a week or so, but after that, the noises came back worse that before...
All the best

Last I had this noise when I had a power steering fluid leak. Topped it up and the noise was gone. Leak was later fixed. I can't exactly pronouce ZZÊÊÊÊÊMM so I can't be sure if it's the same problem. _________________ Each time I speed I say, "Dear lord, make me fast and accurate..." |

Damn! I hear the exact same sound in my car.
Hope there's nothing wrong with the power steering ... |
