It goes from the thermostat to the bottom of the left hand side throttle body assembly. I have had to replace this pipe as well. When I got the pipe it was a straight bit of pipe. So I reckon if you went to a general auto parts place with the current bit of pipe, they maybe able to match it up with a generic bit of pipe suitable for cooling systems. _________________ Scott Sander

Scott, thanks for that; really good news: I thought it was stepped!
I've had an Alfa of one description or another, for,er, a long time and this is the first one that I've struggled to get OEM parts for - makes me a bit nervous!
Thanks for that info: I'll buy the car (It isn't even mine yet and I'm already spending money on parts!), whip off the hose and take it to the local factors.
Cheers mate, I'll sleep easier tonight! |

I'm sure you'll be fine, but just in case I probably have loads of old secondhand pipework in the garage. _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

Hi
I have replaced the pipes from the stat to each inlet manifold with straight pieces of Samco hose on an engine before.
All the best

I have hardly any vehicles for which hoses are available. I use straight hose and make up bends and stepped connectors with soldered copper pipe. _________________ Dick Flower, Nr. Carcassonne. Thanks fellas - Paul I'll get hold of you if I struggle, but it sounds like it won't be a big problem with straight hose.
A Vw T3 Syncro eh? Nice - wouldn't mind one of those myself! |

For info in case anyone else has to do this:
The hose in question is 25mm internal bore and is available from www.carbuildersolutions.co.uk under part number HOS25 (Sure there's cheaper ways but I couldn't be bothered)
Alternatively, contact me as the MOQ is 1m and you only need about a third of that |
