Guys,

Help me. I no longer have a 33. Looks like I may never have another one. What the hell am I still doing here?

Guessing the GTV is proving to be just too reliable!

You know it needs a boxer engined stablemate to sap up any valuable spare time, and to make you smile like crazy on those odd days when it's running really well.

Our 'new' 145 clover is a great little car, goes well, looks funky and has a tardis like interior, but lacks the rawness of the 33.

My fathers 156 1.8 kinda bores me, (although we'll probably buy it off him in a year or two), and is no way near as '33 like for fun' as his previous car an alfa 75 2.0 ts.

Now is a good time to rescue a 33 again, and give it the loving home, care and respect it deserves Laughing

+ You know how to mend them!

Yep, I'm with John on that one, having driven a few modern cars lately. Maybe you're still here because 33 owners are a great bunch of people. (as proved by the fact that you used to own one.) (What are GTV owners like?) Maybe you could put a 33 badge on your GTV Question

I wish my white 33 would never change as it is just such a pleasure to drive, but unfortunately change is part of life and without it we would not appreciate things.

Your not the only one Ive not had a 33 for a while now (got a 164 at the moment) but I love this sight its the best forum Ive known.
I still feel Im driving a series 2 tho cos the fuel gauge in the 164 is the same ie full tank when accelerating...empty when braking.

Get another one.......... divorce doesn't carry the same stigma as it did and you'll see yer kid on the weekends you're not working on the 33 Laughing

i have had serveral 33s havent got one now due to an expensive divorce sighting my love for alfa 33s as main reason ??? depends on the woman mine has only let me see my kids once for less than an hour in the last 16mths but all i can say when money isnt an issue im sure i be back at least a 33 dosent argue back and the boxer just roars with excitment has you put your foot down now im divorced i dont need an excuse to get out of the house anymore to work on or drive my 33
it broke my heart to see my 33s go and has been an emotinal roller coaster but i can see light at the end of the tunnel and am now enjoying my freedom at long last

Glad to hear you're getting yourself sorted. I went through a divorce myself so I sympathise............... actually it made me go and get my 33.............who said there was no silver lining.

I got mt first 33 after getting divorced as well, now they have to take me
and my cars.
My new wife (got hitched in feb) actually encourages my car interest.
My latest alfa, the 164 was my wedding present Laughing

When my 33s engine went pop in 2001 (burnt exhaust valve), the process of fixing it put a severe strain on the relationship with the girlfriend. However she went on to marry me a year later, and me and the best man even drove the 33 to the wedding-he he- living dangerously all added to the adrenalin of the day!

She now drives a 145, moaning a bit about a few alfa quirks!

Good man!!! Its just a matter of training.
Unforntunately in Daves case, seems he found one of those thats untrainable.
Been there myself Dave my first wife moved to america with my kids, now
costs me a grand to see em.

Trouble for me is there is not much that appeals other than the 33. I like the P4. We have a 155 as well, and it is a bit boring. Better car as transport in a fair few ways, just about as exciting as watching the test card.

Suspect the P4 will require major work (quite likely no viable) next MOT. Not sure what I will do.

155 / 156 are not fun. GTV is fun but has a boot the size of the 33s glove box. Doesn't seem to be any cars built these days with a revvy engine, with 2 fingers up at being sensible. Last one I can think of was the Honda Integra Type R.
