Hi Ade,
just been out and measured the guides on the old heads and they're 45mm in length.
Not sure where to get them though.......Mangoletsi? they have been pretty good in the past with my parts.
Cheers. |

you could try Alfa Shop 01603 426277 - they're normally pretty reasonable price wise. I've looked up the prices of valve guides on my parts disc and they're not too pricey - I'll find the part nos if you like and give you a price
hope that helps

right here are the part nos:
Valve guides: Inlet 60562594 price £10.52
Exhaust 60562595 price £3.28
(not sure why the inlet ones are so much more than the exhaust ones, I'll double check this)
Hope that helps

Hi,
don't attempt to replace exhaust guide yourself! these are made of cast iron instead of bronze and are brittle. They break easily when hammered in.
professional shops heat the head to 100°C, put the guides in liquid nitrogen, and drop them in without much hassle.
after this exhaust guides need to be reamed to size as their inside bore is waaay to narrow (the stems won't even get in). Reaming shall be done on the bench to keep proper alignment and refacing of the seat is required to achieve proper alignment.
regards,
zp |
