Here’s an interesting story. Alex Poulter has just told me that Ian Stuartson who lives near Oxford, woke up a couple of days ago to find someone in the night had ‘whisked’ away his 16v’s front bumper, front trailing arms, front cross member, exhaust manifold and engine sump!!! Only a few drops of oil on the ground and the rest of the exhaust had been tied in place!!! Bizarre if true. There are only 268 16v and P4s that could use that engine sump in the country. Anyone know anyone who is after these parts OR WHO HAS GROUNDED THEIR 16V? Imagine waking up to the same situation. Evil or Very Mad

I don't doubt that is true Paul - but surely it would have been easier to steal the WHOLE CAR?!?!?! They must have used one of those clickless ratchets! Laughing

Shouldn't laugh about it really.

Think you'll find it wasn't anyone with a 33 (they're all nice people who don't have that mindset) - I reckon you'll see the parts on eBay or something like that at some point.

Just a thought...

Bob

I'd be furious! With the amount of trouble they went through and the rarity of cars that can use that part it does seem like theft to order. Hope they get caught.

Anyone who can remove a 33 s3 front bumper (with those bastard captive nuts), without disturbing anyone with cries of ''motherf*c*er'', ''c*n*" and ''bast*rd car", must be MUTE!

Anyway, FRONT BUMPER= £25, Crossmember =£30, SUMP=£5.......Ho Ho Ho
Laughing

I knew it didn’t ring true. It’s just too small a circle not to get caught. It seems that a mate of Ian’s replaced his car with another as a prank – even changing the number plate and stuff. Twisted Evil Bloody good prank. Laughing

It would be interesting to know what Ian had done to his mate to deserve this or what he plans by way of retaliation.

Incidentally a mate of mine recently hired a Transit Luton van from Enterprise to assist in his house move. He loaded it up on Saturday evening and parked it outside his home in Yeovil that evening. On Sunday he got up and started the engine and thought that the exhaust had gone. Indeed it had along with the gearbox !!! Nobody had heard anything and it was parked in a residential cul de sac Shocked
