Holds the gearstick/linkage in place. Luvin' your new photo . Think I should get an avatar sometime although I can't seem to make any photos small enough cos I'm computer illiterate/lazy. _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

Paul... thanks for the reply.. but that seems mighty overkill for something to keep the gearstick/linkage in place!!!
Very alfa!
Send me the Avatar you want... and I'll make it the right size and everything for you!

Main reason for it is allready told
others more or less important without any particular order
- protects toothmesh sensor/EMC end and first prop shaft joint from outer influence like debris/small rocks/mud/water...
- In case of propshaft first joint failure protects/holds it in place.
- Jet another part that makes Permanent 4 -70kg heavier then normaln 16v.
Last but not least deep scaring of first prop and producing humming noise in cabin similar to sound of circular saw noise. _________________ Tino Vatavuk

hey bob
yeah mine used to fowl on that bloody thing.
you can adjust either the main front engine mount up or down
or adjust the mount underneath which has a rubber with a bar through it with 2 bolts on either side that holds the back of the gearbox i think?
you can move it left or right
i did these and they worked but it took some messing to get it perfect.
btw my car is still running - yeah

Hey Steve... good to hear from ya!
There are several pages in the workshop manual about the potential fouling of this frame on the propshaft... and how to shim it correctly.
No doubt I'll be playing with that when I put it all back together sometime in 2009!
