I have reluctantly given in and agreed to get a modern car for my wife. This means that I need to sell one of my two Alfas, and it looks like I will keep the 155 V6 (unless someone is desperate for a very nice one!) and sell my 33.
It has 100,000 on the clock. Lots of history from Alfashop (myself and previous owner). Very clean, nice car. Great syncromesh and a fun drive. I bought it in March and since then it has had a service and a new fuel tank strap. Has not needed anything else. Just taxed, and MOT until March. All electrics work with no strange flashing lights at all!
It also has a spare fuel tank as there is some corrosion on the existing one, but not leaking.
Finally, the pics I am posting are older ones. Since these were taken it has had a lovely new P4 steering wheel fitted which looks much better.
This is a very straight, honest car that deserves a good home. All questions answered. Can be viewed in Norwich.
Looking for £500.
Thanks

You can fulfill the dream of owning a 145 2 litre clover now Lyndon
It's still just about for sale. A guy with a GTV6 has seen, driven and wants it, but is having trouble getting 'classic' type insurance.

Yeah, I wish, but I dont see much chance of persuading her . She (quite reasonably this time) wants something newer and we also need something cheap to run etc. If parking wasnt an issue (we live in a flat in the city) I would definitely have more cars. I would tell people what we have bought, but not sure I am ready to admit it.
Good luck with the 145, it sounds great and I am suprised it hasn't gone already |

Go on tell us. As long as it's not a Vauxhall or a Nissan Pulsar, you'll probably get away with it!
My wifes new pug308 is quite nice but is so heavy the 120bhp pug/newest bmw mini petrol engine doesn't exactly thrill. Told her to go for the 150bhp thp (turbo lump used in the latest cooper s)
Good luck with selling your 33. You know you'll probably end up with another one, maybe not today, maybe not tomorow............

Of course if you really wanted to have some fun you could buy my 33. Imagine her face when she comes home to find that on the drive next to the other
OK, we bought an Audi A2. I quite like it in a strange way - at least I dont hate it. Cheap to run, lovely build quality. Totally unexciting to drive, but I will get the 155 back so not all bad!
Car is on Autotrader now.... |

Hi
Have a 155 currently as well as the P4. Just find the 155 boring. Engine is OK. Decent size boot. Comfy seats. Thats about it really.
P4 is fun. Trouble is finding something else that would be similar fun. Short of a Lotus Elise I think I am pretty stuffed for a small and light car with a revvy engine.
All the best

Take your point about the small, light and revyy car (with great interior space for its size). I have a V6 155 and have always loved the V6 engine. I bought the 33 more because of a soft spot for the boxer than for the 33 as such. I had a low mileage Sud after a series 2 33 years ago and just thought the Sud was a much more special car. It looked terrible, and everyone laughed when they saw it. Once they got in it, they just couldnt believe what a great car it was to travel in. The 33 I am selling is great on the reliability front, and I still love the engine, but I just find it a bit harder work to drive. My wife will drive the 155 but not the 33, and I sort of understand why. I know which I prefer on a tight roundabout though, you do feel the weight of the V6 upfront in the 155 - not as balanced as in the 75, and its really too big for me.
If I had space I would happily keep the 33 for those blasts on quiet roads on a Sunday, and probably add a Sprint and a 145 somewhere...
Of course if no-one buys the 33, what can I do but keep it? |

Hi
We had a pair of 75s as well (a 2.5V6 auto and a 2L TS, both the same colour with the same style dodgy bodykits, sometimes got confusing trying to find / forgetting the clutch pedal). To be honest can't say I greatly liked them either. Sold my TS to buy the P4 (the V6 gearbox went and it was scraped).
33 actually feels like it wants to be thrashed. 155 just revs but doesn't feel like anything.
All the best

That is the inherent nature of all boxer engines. COME ON! THRASH ME! I LOVE IT!
Just get 'em good and hot first of course! _________________ Alfa33 QO 1984
