Hi
Afraid I don't like the idea. Just looks wrong, and like a (very) cheap copy of twin lights when I have seen cars with it done.
At least use the existing headlights as masters for some molds for some blanks to mount a set of proper round lights.
All the best

Just to clarify Edward fitted a set of Integrale lights. Not just painted them out. It gives you an idea of what it would look like though

Keith, I did mean using a set of Integrale lights and not covering the existing lights in black Fablon........that I agree would look sh**e!!. I just coloured it in to get the effect And when I said 'I've been messing with paint' I meant paint the computer software not actual paint on my car!!
Ade, I saw those lights on ebay when that guy broke the car ( I think it was the same one) and they go for a pretty penny. |

I always thought the series 3 33 should have got twin headlights, but more like the renault 19 16v. _________________ `97 155 2.0 16v sport

When I had my Sud Ti rallycar I played around with the idea of using motorbike headlights as I wanted to use the main beam hole for brake cooling. BIG problem with Integrale lights is the cost. Think bike lights would be cheaper and more available. From what I remember it wasnt a straight fit anyway for the Integrale lights.

Hi
Might be a few legal issues using bike lights. You would need to be very unlucky to get any hassle, but the E markings are not appropriate for car use most of the time.
All the best

It certainly looks different in the flesh
Strange though. I cant remember Edwards looking that bad. Perhaps its all in the application and rendition of the concept

Ben's pic looks a little like a mk1 vw scirrocco at the front, which wasn't a bad looking car.
Don't think quads work on 33, certainly not series 3 with slanted forward lamps. Shame, quads works SO well on sud ti and sprint, and integrale of course!
That's my 2 penneth

Yep let Ed use our garage at Donington in 06 and I've got an in car camera view DVD of Ed overtaking everyone and then breaking his engine. Classic stuff. Showed it at the Owner's Club film night last year with people continually asking 'what car is this?" _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

I was thinking of having round lights in my ser 2 when I first got it, I hunted around but couldn’t find anything. I heard it was on optional extra in some countries.
Cant remember when i got the picture from. _________________ x2 33 16v

That looks pretty good actually, much better than the white car in my picture!
It's a real mixture of parts. Series 1/2 body with series 3 front wing indicators, series 1 front grille, looks like series 3 door handles.. The lights and the bonnet vents make you look twice to realise it's a 33. _________________ "Now, all that is left to do ... is wait that something else brokens, to fix up again!" |

I knew a fella who retro fitted escort mk 5 twin light conversion to his mk 3 33 it would have looked quite good except the extra fibre glassing was a bit shoddy around the indicator which incidently are removed so new ones had to be fitted into the bumper. _________________ PHAT 33 |

wow that's cool
to see my first 33 here again
it was completely standard when i bought it in 1996, i have completely modified the 33, i wanted it to be different
in 1998, when i was done modifying this 33, i got myself another project,a completely standard '87 1.7 QV (i think in england they were called green cloverleaf) which i also modified quite heavily
the 1.7 is still in a corner of my workshop waiting for further attention
it will get a set of round headlights, just like the purple one had
and...........................
i have another set of those lights, and i'm willing to swap these for a set of velocebumpers

Personally I like it,and think of the options for better lighting. Dare I say it at little bit reminiscent of an E30 Beemer. Still we can't hold that against the concept.
But the crunch question is where are they from? Or what, I should say.

i don't know where they're off, i do know its a quite rare set
i believe there are 10 sets in Holland, in other countries i couldn't tell, but i've never seen them on cars from other countries
the set came in a big box with everything needed for the conversion
so i think it was made for the series 1&2 33's
i have one spare set, so if anyone's interested, i'd like to swap for a set of veloce bumpers _________________ currently owned:
