Hi all,
Looks like the oil sump of the 33 has begun leaking oil at a quick rate. The oil sump is wet all around up to the drain plug.
I was thinking of replacing the sump gasket; any ideas regarding the process or any tricks?
Apart from a new gasket would I need to apply silicone gasket all around? I have access to a torque spanner so I guess the job can be done quite easily at home.
Any input is welcome,

Hi,
If you exhaust manifold is like this one you'll need to remove it prior to removing the sump.

Hi,
Then the job is very straightforward. Once you get the sump off you might want to weld the drain plug nut retaining bracket as those have a nasty habit of getting loose over the years.

I didn't use any silicon Than. The gasket is good enough on it's own and if you start putting silicon on you can get spaghetti like pieces falling off inside which could block the oil pump gauze and you know what happens next! |
