Hi,

Yep this is the one i saw twice in one day 2 years ago. I've never seen it since despite living i the same area.

Typically my bro' recently bought a 155 v6 else we'd have definitely been to have a gander. Another one for the stable flat4 Wink ?

John I'd take a gander anyway with you if you want

Let me get this right. So this is the car that ran a 180bhp engine two years ago.... but it's been on SORN for a while now, so what's happened? Engine pulled out of it and replaced with a boggo 8v? Or has the bottom fallen out of it? How much did it go for on 'bay back then can you remember?

When I was up at AutoLusso some weeks back they were talking about a 'bloke with a White 33' they had in that 'had £6k spent on it'. Must be same car.

Hi flat4alfa, no this is not Ian's car with 180bhp, there was some confusion in the post if you read it more carefully. We don't know who the owner of this car was.

Yes it is a bargain but not for the asking price, i know the guy selling it & he will except as little as £150 for it. He was my old college tutor, lovely guy and a bloody good vehicle technician,

I feel it's quibbling over prices that keep values of these car low, IMHO

Under £500 for anything of this calibre that is taxed and tested shouldn't be sniffed at. It's not a grubby Escort, it's a bargain Alfa that can be driven off and enjoyed straight away, even up to a track day. Look at it, it's on shorter springs.

Popping cylinders on is not exactly work. It can be driven-off, so no trailering fuss needed. Knowing the previous owner's ability to care for it is a bonus.

A nasty, rotted-out, warmed-over Ford would be much more than this

Bloody good speach sir, well phrased. The car is totally standard & original, i think someone should snap it up! I have considered it but i have to draw the line somewhere, already have 6 Alfa's here, 5 of which are 33's. Very Happy Very Happy

Well the white veloce ended up at £600, which is a fairly respectable price considering no tax/ mot and sills that are 'starting to rot'.

Is the buyer on here?

Hopefully will be back on the road soon- it's a very nice looking car.

John

Sills are already rotten on a ten year old KA or Fiesta though Wink and no Ford-blinkered type will complain...

I feel £600 is still bargain money for a complete car with all the bodykit bits intact. You've still got a CD reciever and alloy wheels to throw on fleabay to pay for the welding and waxoil Cool

Practical Classics magazine lists values (top/ok/trash) of 33 S2 1.7 to be £1750/£900/£250, so it's about right.

I remember when people complained that complete and running Alfasuds/Sprints were getting pricey at £500. Now look at them.

Its an old problem with selling cars on ebay...Time wasters
They bid without looking then dont turn up or turn up and start trying to get price down.
