Hello from Greece,
I 'd like to make a question to you. What is the full title of the MOT word.
I know that it has to do with mechanical checking by an official institution.
Here in Greece we call these institutions KTEO: Kentro Technikou Elenchou Oximaton (Centre of Vehicles Technical Checking)
In addition I would like to know if another forum like ours exists covering the Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. My fathers owns a 1996 C180 one and is eager to exchange tecnical info.
Also today I bought front and rear brake hoses in order to replace the original ones since 12 years hose must have deteriorate pretty enough - so there is work to do in the weekend!!!; I am now in search of a used A/C from a crashed 33 - many points of view have been heard and the good fact is that I will most probably arrange it with the scrapyard at the price of €900.
That all folks! See you around

Hi
MOT = Ministry Of Transport
There hasn't been a Ministry of Transport for years, but the name has stayed in use for the test
All the best

Well in NSW it is called a pink slip, because the form the inspector fills out is pink.
Go Aussie
Just wish we could adopt the system they have in most states in OZ, no pink slip. _________________ Scott Sander

yeah, same in tassie... unless your rego expires. All you have to do each year is pay them some money and you automatically get your new rego. |

If that was the case in NZ then most people would be driving around with no brake lights and worn out brake pads as is often the case here despite 2 yearly inspections. I would be interested to see what would arise from WOF or pink slip inspections in SA and other non inspecting states. The mind bogles.

Dave,
I guess it might be worth analysing the crash data from all the states to see if having the inspections in NSW makes any difference. My gut feeling is, it doesn't.
Actually in NSW if you have a car less than 3yr old you don't need a pink slip. I guess the goverment believes that it is not worth it as the cars are not that old to have something go wrong. _________________ Scott Sander

Dave that is TWICE yearly, unless your car is less than 7 yrs old when it is annual.
