The ECU's for lambda equipped 16v 33's were different to the non lambda ones, non lambda ECU's part number ended in 142, but the lambda ECU number ends in 147. Has anyone got a spare "147" ecu? my sportwagon is in need.

Interesting, i emailed someone who works for microchips ecu tuning, he said the 147 ecu is ideal for running a lambda, if the 142 ecu is used in its place the car will run but the ecu will be using its predefined maps, rather than the lambda ones. mmmmmmm Confused

I swapped ecu's with a mate today, he has a late k reg 16v running a 147 ecu, the sportwagon ran so sweet with that 1 fitted. Quite an amazing difference. Just goes to show there is a difference somewhere. Very Happy To add confusion into the equasion, sams 33 is an M reg 16v, that is running the 142 ecu & seems fine. Confused

The ECU has base maps, when used with lambda correction it fine tunes the fueling.
Your old ECU could have been faulty and or the new one could have been chipped.

All ECu's i have seen have been 142, i have never seen a 147, could also be that Australia's 147 ECU ground level warrents richer fueling, can you give us the chip number?

Have you tried removing the fuel type dongle, this will advance the ignition curver for 97 ron fuel and you will notice a difference, ask Paul, he tried it himself in my car Smile
