Does anyone know what the oem bump rate is?
Does anyone know how to find out this information?
I have emailed Boge aka ZF and am waiting a reply, I was thinking of asking Gaz, it is obvious that Koni don’t know!
The reason I ask is because my ser 1 sport Koni inserts have been back to Koni 3 times, about to be a 4th time because the bump rate it too soft.
The 70k old OEM shock has a harder bump rate compared to the Koni's.
With the OEM shock, pushing down on the bonnet is much much firmer than the Koni's, also going round corners is fine with the OEM, but with the Koni's the loaded corner compresses until it almost hits the bump stop, this is on soft, middle and hard setting.
I know there has been discussion on the spring rate denoting the compression of the loaded corner but nothing else has change apart from the shock, as in it has the same spring and is fine round corners with the OEM shock but compresses with the Koni’s.
I asked Koni to revalve the shocks for a 16v, which I believe has a 60kg weight increase over a ser 1, they have been revalved but only for the rebound, which doesn't help when the bump is too soft because the front does not rise easily after hitting a bump and when in a corner adds to the compressed side compressing until it hits the bump stop. _________________ x2 33 16v

Thanks Alex, I will try but after speaking to Gaz and Boge "bow-ga" it is not something that Boge will give out and Gaz dont know, they just go from a shock they have, put it on a dyno and rebuild them
Boge were helpfull and identified the other set of shocks i have are from a sportswagon, the bump and rebound is much stiffer than my standard shocks. _________________ x2 33 16v
