Having put series 3 door cards into a series 2, and wired up the window switches, I guess the problem is with the drivers side switch.
It is an elegant system. The switch receives ground and +12V on two cables. If no rocker switch is pressed, all the outputs are connected to ground (means the motor can't pick up radio waves and move when you don't want it to). By engaging a switch in a non centre position, it sends +12V down one of the 4 wires, with the other three remaining grounded. If you were to press both switches to a non centre position, 2 wires get made +12v, whilst the other two remain grounded.
If you consider just one switch to one motor, at rest, the motor gets ground to both sides. In one switch position the motor gets +12V to one side, and still gets ground to the other, so it spins. Rock the switch the other way, and +12V is sent down the second wire, whilst the previous live feed wire remains at ground. With a DC motor, this makes it spin in the opposite direction.
Best bet is that the switch is not getting +12V, or has not got a ground to it, basically a break in the cable, or a broken connector somewhere. I would guess the wires could break as they go through the plastic bit where the door hinges. All the movement of the door would weaken them over time.
The fuse is common to the entire system, so you would not be able to open/close the other window if the fuse had gone.
You can carefully prise the switch apart,although there are lots of peices of metal inside that I wouldn't want to have to put back if they fell out. However, you may simply have a piece of fluff or dirt blocking the contacts, so worth a clean with some spray contact cleaner.
