Reverse light switch

Can anyone tell me if its possible to change the reverse light switch on the gearbox without having to drop it down?
Which means taking the exhaust off,which is a pain in the....

Hi ian

you will have to drop the exhaust i think unless you have bendie hand's as its an 8v if it was a 16v then the manifold mises it!

Hi,

If you have a long socket (to fit over the terminals) and then a long extension (to miss the exhaust manifold) you might be able to do it. I suspect you will also need to drop the gearbox oil first.

Thanks...I will have a look when the weather improves.
Dropping the manifold is a pain in the butt.
I got stopped by the gentlemen of the local constabulary this week for driving with them on (switch sticking I imagine).
After thanking them for kindly bringing this to my attention and sharing a joke (at my expense) about running Alfa Romeos they let me off the fixed penalty ticket.
