|
|
I have the option of buying the Haynes repair manual for the Alfasud for NZ$15 + postage. I'm just wondering whether it's worth it or whether the Alfasud is too dissimilar to the 33. I know about the early 33 workshop manual you can get on the web, and it's helpful, but confusing to navigate and missing some pages. Plus it's not in handy book form so it's a bit more difficult to take it to the garage with you.
Anyone have the Alfasud Haynes manual and find it good/bad/useless for the 33? |

Yes, I've got a couple of them.
Actually useful if you take it with a pinch of salt!
It stopped me from putting the front springs on backwards!!! LOL!
I'd get a copy, as the 'handy' book form is great, and it's not "that" dissimilar from the 33.

The old Sud manuals excellent when combined with the early 33 manual from the web. Good for cars up to about 1990. MK1 and Mk2. Try and get the one that includes the Sprint. Engine and suspension are very similar.
Haynes - Alfa Sud/Sprint 1974 to 1988. |

They don't cover the 1.7 litre engines though,do they?.
I don't know how much NZ$15 is worth, but they go for £1 GBP on Ebay here.

The one on the NZ auction website just covered the Sud (1974 - 1984), so it wouldn't have the 1.7 twin carb engine. NZ$15 = 5 british pounds.. plus somebody else just bought it. =(
But next time I see one up for sale that includes the Sprint, I'll buy it. |

The Haynes Book only goes to 1.5. Thats where the old 33 manual comes in. |

I have the Haynes manual for a Sud.... it's OK as a vague reference point when it comes to taking things to bits and putting them back together, but generally there are easier methods to doing things that are in the book, I have found.
I got mine for 5 bucks from a 2nd hand shop in Palmerston North _________________ Just because it's old... doesn't mean it can't go fast! |
