Just a silly rant about nothing but has anyone suffered the contaminating thread syndrome where as you read a problem with someones 33 and low and behold 2 weeks later your 33 suffers the same issue!?. My electric window motor packed up on Saturday in the down position ahhhh , tested the switch fine, put a meter over the 2 yellow wire and its getting 12volts , anyway taking the car to see our friendly neighbourhood supplier (Paul h) on sat to replace the offending item and perhaps sort some other little issues. _________________ PHAT 33 |

Yep. Was speaking to a friend about upgrading coil & dizzy and mine decides to pack it in. got gradually worse thought it was an advance problem cause it was missing at high revs then missing all the time then sparking irregularly until now its dead completely Think the source of the prob may have something to do with the alarm but its not been switched on in years. I don't even have a fob for it so gonna have to bin it.
Getting frustrated with this now Ive not been able to drive it in anger since june. |

Been there Ian!
Was reading a post a couple of years ago about someone losing the clip on the bottom of the gear linkage...........only three days passed until I was stirring porridge!
The only advise i can give is not to read this forum.......it's bad for your cars health |

| just a thought, but have you checked the optical trigger and wiring? i've had a couple deteriorate and die, the missfire worsened until it packed up altogether in the way you described... |

Well the problem was not the electric motors fault!, after an hour of thinking its a relay or a short on the cars wiring , it turned out to be a 12v trigger from my 6yr old cobra alarm, when I lock the car my alarm key fob does the central locking and also send 12volts to the window switches to shut the windows, well the alarm was not triggering the window as I think its wiring had shorted on the body work stopping the window motor receiving 12v at all when the switch was pressed. Anyway the window works great and my alarm isn't. Thanks Paul and Big AL for your input last sat _________________ PHAT 33 |
